How To Avoid A “Slip and Fall” In Your Slippers With One Simple DIY Trick!

Turn Your Slippery Slippers Into Grabbing Grippers!

The other day I was running through the house and, as my feet reached the hardwood floors in the living room, up they went, in the air, and down I went on my butt! Oops! I forgot I was wearing my slippers with “slippery” soles. I wonder if that’s why they refer to them as slippers? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve experienced this, so I went about finding a solution. Lo and behold, I found one, and I want to share it with you.

It’s all about the Sugru!

What is Sugru, you ask?

Sugru is the world’s first mouldable glue that turns into rubber. Our patented silicone technology is unique. Out of the pack, Sugru feels like play-dough, and it’s that easy to use too. It bonds to almost any other material and cures just by exposing it to air. Its durable cured properties mean it’ll stay strong and securely bonded anywhere from the freezer to a steamy hot shower, from the home to the great outdoors. Source

Materials You Will Need:

  • slippers needing a better grip
  • scissors
  • hole punch
  • pen
  • a package of Sugru (or see the DIY link for Sugru at the end of this tutorial)
  • mactac or adhesive shelf liner

Step 1:

Place slipper sole down on adhesive shelf liner (paper side up).
Trace the outline of the sole and cut it out.
Repeat with other slipper.

Step 2:

Fold each stencil in half lengthwise and then fold it lengthwise again, folding each side back up to the middle like an accordion.
