Floating Bookshelves That Defy Logic! Invisible But Not Impossible.

Do you know how these books are shelved on the wall? We didn’t either until we did some research. The books appear to be floating on nothing. This is something we’ve been wanting to do for a long time, but never really took the time to investigate. Come to find out, there are a variety of different ways the books can “float” on the wall. It is just a matter of preference really. We decided to show you 4 different ways you can make this happen so you can chose the application that is best suited for you.

1. The Easiest Application

This application requires a piece of hardware your can purchase from Vat19, which will hold up to 15 or 20 pounds of books. As you can see below, the back cover of the bottom book fits into a little notch underneath the base of the hardware.

This tutorial is very simple.

Step 1:  Select your hardware (standard or large) depending on the weight of the books you intend to stack.

Step 2:  Screw the hardware to the wall.

Step 3:  Insert the back cover of the bottom book inside the notch as shown in the first image below.

Step 4:  Stack more books on the bottom book high enough to hide the hardware.
