Giving older furniture a new look can be a great project! Here you’ll find a step-by-step way to re-dress your dresser with a lovely lacy appearance that is simple to do and will add a great sense of warmth and personality! Enjoy!
Redesigning old furniture can be a very exciting activity that lets you be creative and make a one-of-a-kind item that really adds a warmth to your home.
Here are the items you’ll need to get started:
An old dresser
Spray Paint in the color <or colors> of your choosing
An old piece of lace you won’t be using for anything else afterwards
First Step: Remove the Hardware from the dresser so they don’t get colored in the process. Then take out the drawers and move to the location where you will be painting.
Next, you paint the undercoat if necessary or wanted and let dry.
After the dresser is dry, lay the lace over the dresser <no need to tape it down>
Now you spray your top color over the lace onto the dresser, it shouldn’t take
too long to dry and you can use the lace again or you can buy a larger
quantity of lace so each piece can be done at once.
When dry, peel lace carefully straight up
Now you can re-install the hardware. If you’d like, you can use a metallic
spray paint to give the hardware a new polished look.
And now you’re all done! It’s that easy!
