Cozy Living Room Chic – DIY Ottoman Cube

IMG_0045.jpg

Ever feel like there is just not enough space for everyone to sit? This is a fabulous solution for those who are relegated to sitting cross-legged on the floor.

Making one of these is deceptively simple. An upholstered ottoman cube can be made for less than $20.00 (p.s.- some fancy store-bought ones run around $116.00). Personalize it with your favorite fabric to spice up the decor or just create some extra stylish seating. It’s your choice, but either one is a win!

DIY $20 Ottoman!!

I am loving my latest project! I wanted some ottomans for in front of my coffee table. You can build these great cubes for under $20 a piece!  The cost for wood is a whopping $5!

Here are a few pictures from my build.

I found white foam board at Hobby Lobby for $1.29 a piece. I used 2 pieces for each cube. It’s super easy to measure and cut. Just use a yard stick and a craft knife.

These are the chair cushions I used from Joann’s.

I hot glued it to the top of the cube and then wrapped the whole thing in this batting.

My last step was sewing the slip cover!  If you can sew a straight line, you can sew these slip covers!  Here they are all finished!
